Coaching Staff             

 

VARSITY:

Dina Hughes
 

Coach Dina Hughes is the returning Varsity Head Coach for Seneca Valley Girls' Lacrosse.  Coach Hughes started her lacrosse career in Cherry Hill, NJ where she attended Cherry Hill High School West.  She started Varsity lacrosse for 4 years.  After graduating high school, Coach Hughes attended Penn State University as a Secondary Mathematics Education major.  While attending Penn State, Dina was involved in many school related programs, one of which was club lacrosse.  Pursuing her passion for girls' lacrosse, Coach Hughes became the Assistant Varsity Girls' Lacrosse Coach at West Deptford High School (NJ) for the 2007 lacrosse season.  Dina is currently teaching mathematics at the SV Intermediate High School and will be coaching the Varsity Team for the third season. With the help of her coaching staff, Coach Hughes led her team to a section championship in 2008 as well as taking them to the WPIAL Semi Finals for the first time in school history.

   

ASST COACH/JV:

Katie Smolter
 

Coach Katie Smolter is the returning Junior Varisty Head Coach for Seneca Valley Girls’ Lacrosse. Katie is a recent graduate of Slippery Rock University. She graduated with a degree is Elementary/Special Education. While attending Slippery Rock, she continued her lacrosse career as a member of the Women’s Lacrosse Team as an offensive player. She is currently working as a 12th grade Learning Support Teacher at Seneca Valley Senior High School and will start her third season as Junior Varsity Head Coach. With the efforts of her team, Katie hopes to obtain her third undefeated Junior Varsity season.

 

 

ASST COACH:

Duane Mayeda
 

Duane Mayeda is the Volunteer Assistant Varsity girls lacrosse coach for Seneca Valley. He has been an involved in the girls lacrosse program the last 5 years working with the high school, middle school, and indoor winter league middle school teams. He has coached goalies the last 7 years and works with boy's youth and middle school goal keepers on an individual basis. As a two sport athlete in college, he has been able to extract fundementals/drills from his children's college and club programs and implement them into the SV program. Duane is a sales and marketing director for a chemical company. 

 

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL:

Emily Camerota
 

Emily Camerota is the Head Coach of the Middle School Team which she took over in 2008.  Emily is from Pittsburgh where she graduated high school in 2004 from Oakland Catholic.  She played lacrosse for eight years as a defensive player both through high school and college. She is a Slippery Rock graduate with a degree in elementary and early childhood education. She is currently attending graduate school to complete her special education degree. Last year Emily was named the WPSLA Middle School Coach of the Year and led her team to a 16-2 record.

   

ASST MIDDLE SCHOOL:

Michael Serventi
 

Mike Serventi is the Assistant Coach of the Middle School Team. Mike is a recent graduate of Slippery Rock University where he earned his degree in Health and Physical Education. As a midfielder, Mike was a member of the Slippery Rock Men's Lacrosse team, in which he was a captain for one year. In those four years, the team made four playoff runs, including two Final Four appearances. Currently, Mike is applying for a substitute teacher in the Seneca Valley School District, where he completed his Student Teaching.

   

YOUTH:

Nicole Parr
 

Nicole Parr a recent graduate from Slippery Rock University where she majored in Community Health. Nicole is currently working at the Spina Bifida Association with disabled individuals.  She played lacrosse for 8 years and also played for the Slippery Rock women's lacrosse team where she played midfield and offense. She enjoys watching both men's and women's lacrosse.
