Seneca Valley Girls Lose to Quaker Valley in Playoffs

May 25, 2007:  In a rematch of the regular season game against Quaker Valley, the Lady Raiders lost in the opening round of the WPIAL playoffs.  Quaker Valley took an early lead 3-1.  Seneca Valley fought back, but couldn't overcome the early deficit.  QV won 7-5 and will take on Peters in the semi's.  Congratulations to the Seneca Valley Lady Raiders on a great season.  They ended the 2007 season 16-3 overall, 10-0 in section, and Section 1 Champions for the second year in a row.

 

Lady Raiders Face Quaker Valley in WPIAL Quarterfinals

May 22, 2007:  The Lady Raiders will play Quaker Valley in the WPIAL Playoffs Quarterfinals on May 24th at 7:00PM at NexTier Stadium.  This is a rematch of a game played earlier this month with Quaker Valley winning 9-7.  Come out and cheer the Lady Raiders on to victory!!!! SV Beats Butler to Finish Undefeated in Section

JV Finishes Season Undefeated

May 17, 2007:  The Seneca Valley Girls Varsity and JV Lacrosse teams completed successful regular seasons.  The JV team showed that the future is bright for Seneca Valley by going 12-0-1.  Most of the JV wins were by large margins and helped motivate the Varsity for their games.  The Varsity took an early 6-0 lead, but had to fight back against a charging Butler team.  The Lady Raiders held the lead and won the game 9-7.  The Varsity completed a 16-2 regular season and is undefeated in section play.  They will be playing in the WPIAL playoffs on May 24th.  Opponent, location and time TBD.  (Butler Eagle game article)

 

Varsity Falls to Seton-La Salle

May 16 2007:  The Lady Raiders played one of the top teams in the WPIAL tonight.  The SV Girls played Seton-La Salle close the entire game including tying the score late in the game 6-6.  Seton-La Salle pulled away late for a 11-7 victory.

 

Lady Raiders Clinch Section Title Against Pine Richland

May 14, 2007:  The Seneca Valley Girls Lacrosse team clinched their second section championship tonight by winning against Pine Richland.  Once again, the JV kept their undefeated record intact by besting PR's JV.  Their aggressive play all year has been fun to watch.  The Varsity took the field against Pine Richland ready to defend last year's section title.  The first half saw both teams trading goals with SV taking a two goal lead into halftime.  The fast paced SV style began to wear out Pine Richland in the second half.  Our Lady Raiders won the game 13-9 and with that win are Section 1 Champions for the second year in a row (photos).

 

 

Senior Night a Triple Crown Against North Allegheny

May 10, 2007:  Three big events occurred tonight as the Lady Raiders battled North Allegheny during Senior Night.  First, we celebrated the accomplishments of Carly Conrad who is the only Senior on this year's lacrosse team (photos).  Good luck to Carly and thanks for her hard work and leadership.  Second, the JV continued their unbeaten season by beating North Allegheny's JV 10-6.  As been the case all year, the SV JV sets the tone for the rest of the evening's play (photos).  Third, the Varsity took the field ready for the hard checking, aggressive play that was seen in the first game.  The Lady Raiders quickly took the fight out of NA and dominated the game 10-3 (photos).  Great job on taking two wins against NA and celebrating Carly's Senior Night.

 

 

MS Girls Finish Regular Season With Sweep of PR

May 9, 2007:  The SV Middle School A and B Teams ended a successful regular season by taking two games against Pine Richland.  The MS-A team won a close game 8-7 and the MS-B team dominated the game winning 13-7.  Congratulations to both teams on their seasons.  Good luck at the St. Vincent Play Day on May 19th.

 

Senior Night This Thursday, May 10th

May 9, 2007:  The Seneca Valley Girls Lacrosse Senior Night will be on Thursday Evening, May 10th between the JV and Varsity games against North Allegheny.  We will be honoring our lone, outstanding Senior, Carly Conrad.  Please come and enjoy the festivities during the ceremony with refreshments after the Varsity game.  Info.

 

Varsity and JV Sweep North Hills

May 8, 2007:  Both the Varsity and JV beat North Hills tonight.  This completes a sweep of North Hills for the season.

 

Seton-La Salle Game Added to V/JV Schedule

May 7, 2007:  The Varsity and JV will play Seton-La Salle away on May 16th.  JV at 6:00PM and Varsity at 7:30PM.  Bus will leave at 4:15PM.

 

Lady Raiders Lose to Quaker Valley 

May 5, 2007:  In a hard fought, close game, the SV Varsity had their first loss of the season against Quaker Valley.  The Lady Raiders battled the entire game, but could never take the lead.  The final score was 7-5 in favor of Quaker Valley.  The SV Varsity played one of their best games of the season (photos).  The JV continued their unbeaten streak by beating Quaker Valley's JV.  Both teams have a section game on Tuesday against North Hills.

 

Middle Schools Splits at East End

May 4, 2007:  The Middle School A and B teams split against East End on Friday in two close games.  The MS-A team won 8-7 and the MS-B team lost 7-9.

 

Varsity Rallies to Beat Shaler 

May 3, 2007:  The SV JV again started the evening out well by beating Shaler's JV (photos).  Shaler's Varsity was ready to take on the first place Lady Raiders.  Shaler took a one goal lead into halftime and held the lead until the final minutes of the game.  Seneca Valley rallied to tie the score and then go ahead in the last minute of the game.  The game was hard fought by both teams.  Thanks for the support from our Spirit Team and the Boys Lacrosse Team (photos) who helped support the girls late in the game.  Game photos.  Butler Eagle Game of the Week article.

May 3, 2007:  With the success of the Lady Raiders so far this season, there have been articles printed in the area newspapers.  Post-Gazette (May 3rd), Butler Eagle (May 1st), and Butler Eagle (April 24th).  Keep up the good work!

 

Middle School Drops Two to NA

May 2, 2007:  Both Middle School teams lose to North Allegheny today in two close matches.  The MS-A team lost 10-8 and the MS-B team lost 8-5.

 

Middle School Girls Sweep Mt. Lebanon

April 30, 2007:  The Middle School A and B teams battled Mt. Lebanon in two close games.  Both teams were victorious.  The MS A team won 4-2 and the MS B team won 4-3.  Great job girls against a school with a strong lacrosse program.  Good luck on Tuesday against North Allegheny.

 

Lady Raiders Win Two At Butler

April 24, 2007:  As usual the JV set the tone for the evening with another lopsided victory.  This time SV's JV beat Butler's JV 9-3.  The Varsity girls took the field and beat Butler 8-5 in a hard checking game.  Both the Varsity and JV have completed the first round of section games undefeated.  Good luck to the girls when they start the second round of section play on May 3rd against Shaler.  Click here for game photos.  Click here to read an article from the Butler Eagle about the game.

Varsity Takes Two During North Hills Play Day

April 21, 2007:  The Varsity spent a beautiful, sunny day this past Saturday winning two games at the North Hills Play Day.  The Lady Raiders were victorious against Hampton and Vincentian.  Upper St. Clair was a no show.  Click here for pictures.

 

SV Girls Varsity/JV Victorious Over Pine Richland

April 19 2007:  The JV once again set the stage for the evening with a big win over Pine-Richland 10-2.  When the Varsity squared off against Pine Richland, both teams were undefeated in section play and overall.  The Lady Raiders came out strong and took a 6-2 lead into halftime.  Pine Richland rallied in the second half, but the Varsity held out.  The final score was 9-7.  Tonight capped off an exciting week of lacrosse for Seneca Valley with victories over North Allegheny and Pine Richland.   For game photos click here.

 

MS-A Girls Over Butler

April 18, 2007:  The MS-A Team extended their record to 4-0-1 with a victory over Butler.  The score was 8-3.

 

Lady Raiders Triumph Over North Allegheny

April 17, 2007:  Seneca Valley Varsity and JV both had impressive wins over North Allegheny tonight.  The JV set the stage with a 12-4 lopsided victory.  The Varsity was quickly down 3-1 early in the first half, but rallied to take a 6-3 lead into halftime.  The Lady Raiders extended their lead to 12-6 and fought off a late game rally by NA.  The final score was 12-10.  The game highlighted Seneca Valley's speed and toughness as the girls had to deal with multiple yellow cards by NA.  Great game and good luck on Thursday against Pine Richland.  For game photos click here.

 

MS Girls Battle Against Quaker Valley

April 13, 2007:  The Seneca Valley Girls Middle School teams battled against two tough Quaker Valley teams on Friday.  The MS-A team won 5-4 and the MS-B team lost a close one 4-5.  Two very good showings against Quaker Valley which has a good lacrosse program.

 

North Hills Falls to Lady Raiders

April 12, 2007:  The Varsity and JV Lady Raiders took on North Hills in their second section game of the season.  The Varsity won 11-4 and the JV won as well.  With two wins this week against Shaler and North Hills, the Lady Raiders are set for two important games next week against Pine Richland and North Allegheny.

 

Middle School Girls Win Big Over Pine Richland

April 11, 2007:  The Seneca Valley Girls Middle School teams showed their strong offenses and tenacious defenses in two big victories over Pine Richland.  The SV Middle School-A team won 11-1 and the SV Middle School-B team won 13-1.  Great games on a cold, rainy afternoon.  Good luck against Quaker Valley!

 

Varsity and JV Strong Against Shaler

April 10, 2007:  The SV Lady Raiders Varsity and JV both won against Shaler on Tuesday.  The JV opened the night with a 10-1 victory and the Varsity followed by beating Shaler 10-3.  The games were highlighted by strong goaltending/defense and attacking offense.  Great opening to section play.  Click here for pictures.

 

Middle School Girls Open Against NA

April 6, 2007:  The Seneca Valley Girls Middle School teams opened at North Allegheny on April 2nd.  The SV Middle School-A team tied North Allegheny while the SV Middle School-B team lost a close game.

 

Quiet Week for Lady Raiders

April 6, 2007:  After a strong start to their season both the Varsity and JV were looking forward to two games this week to get ready for next week's section play.  Taylor Alderdice on Monday and Mt. Lebanon on Thursday were both no shows.  Good luck on April 10th's section opener against Shaler.

 

SV Girls Varsity Wins Against Bethel Park

March 29, 2007:  On a field that looked more like a swamp, the SV Girls Varsity beat Bethel Park in a close game 10-8.  The score was tied 8-8 late into the game until the Lady Raiders rallied with two late scores.  The JV was victorious at Bethel Park, too.

 

Fox Chapel Falls to SV Girls Lax

March 27, 2007:  The Lady Raiders opened their local exhibition schedule with a strong victory over Fox Chapel.  SV took an 8-1 lead into halftime and won the game 9-6.  The JV team tied Fox Chapel 8-8 in a exciting game.

 

SV Girls Varsity Victorious in Eastern PA on Spring Trip

March 24, 2007:  In the first ever trip by SV Girls Lax to eastern PA, the Varsity made a sweep of their two games on Saturday.  On a bright, sunny morning, the Lady Raiders beat a tough Southern Lehigh team 11-8.  Later in the day, the girls beat Parkland 8-2 on a muddy field.  This was an excellent way to open the 2007 season.  See photos from Southern Lehigh and Parkland games.
